Our Rules and Code of Conduct Empty Our Rules and Code of Conduct

Post by Admin Tue Mar 01, 2016 2:24 pm

By registering with us you agree that you have read and will abide by our Rules and Code of Conduct in full, as may be amended from time to time

Our Rules

Once a full member you will be required to log in regularly (at least once a week) and to make at least one useful contributory post (at least once a month).  If you become inactive either on the forum or in game we will reserve the right to revert your membership back to recruit status, and possibly deletion for an extended absence, unless you notify us why you cannot achieve this.  We are more than happy to make allowances for any problems that real life throws your way from time to time.
Please read this section which is in conjunction with our Code on Conduct and which applies to all members.

Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct (COC) below applies to all registered members.  We reserve the right to suspend the membership of anyone who does not abide by the COC and any Rules posted on the forum as may be amended from time to time and notified to you.  The COC applies to our forum, game participation and any social media we may use.  Enforcement of the COC will be at the discretion of Admin whose decision will be final and binding.

Registration

When registering, members must give their true date of birth, a decent forum name, and fill in the remaining requested data sensibly.  We reserve the right to restrict and/or ban users and their email/IP addresses during the registration process or at any time afterwards.  You must be aged 21 or over and remain an active member.  Use of a mic in game is essential (although we understand home life can sometimes mean that isn’t always possible; we would expect you to communicate via mic more regularly than not).

Etiquette

As a clan we will not tolerate any form of cheating, hacking, glitching or boosting within games or promotion of it on the forum.  We will actively speak out against it. Any affiliation of the clan to or from these types of action are not acceptable.  Membership will be revoked if a member is found to conduct themselves in this way and/or carry out any of these activities.

We will accept absolutely no libel, slander, truth fabrication, insulting of individuals or groups with the aim of causing serious offence, in relation to, but not limited to, racism, sexism, homophobia, ethnic slurs or religious, cultural and other forms of bigotry in game or on the forum. There must be no serious threatening behaviour of any kind. Certain words are offensive and should be avoided entirely. There should be no reference to the subject of rape, sexual violence or pornography of any kind.  We will investigate any violation of these rules and where appropriate warnings will be given or membership revoked.  Admin will have final discretion on any action taken.
You should strive to maintain the good name and promotion of the clan in a mature and friendly fashion, which shall extend to friends or guests who are not clan members but who are affiliated with us and/or active on the forum.

Disputes

From time to time members may have disputes with each other.  The clan is for people aged 21 and over who we expect to show some degree of maturity.  We trust that as adults you are able to handle and resolve disputes yourself.  Talk to each other and, more importantly, listen.  We all have our own views and personal limits and we should appreciate those of others.

Any disputes should not be carried out in game, on the forum or social media associated with the clan.  It is our home and we unnecessarily draw others into our arguments by this, with people taking sides.   If you require it we can create an area of the forum, for access by the interested parties only, where the issue can be debated.  Alternatively we have officers and Admin who can try to help provide some resolution.  They should not be expected to “take sides” but they are there to try and mediate an acceptable outcome for all concerned.   We cannot promise to make everyone happy with our decisions but we can promise to do our best and provide support for each and every member of the clan so far as we are able.

General conduct

While swearing and banter in game is to be expected you must bear in mind that children, young adults and impressionable persons in lobbies may hear you and you should think about modifying your language as appropriate.

Player cards that can be designed in game by individuals should not exhibit reference to racism, sexism, homophobia, terrorism or anything meant to cause offence.

Double clanning

We do not permit other clans to advertise within this site or permit double clanning.
When gaming with other members and as a member of our forum you must conduct yourself as a clan member, not as a member of any other clan you may have links with. We do not support members who wish to be members of other clans for games which we support, which presently is the Call of Duty franchise.

We do not endorse the sharing of games or DLC between members.  Whilst some members may be close friends, or indeed family, that choose to carry out this process, it must be done so in complete privacy.  We will not involve ourselves or allow our forum to be disrupted with disputes caused by the actions of sharing between clan members or support any resulting difficulties or disagreements arise as a result of this action.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ANY TIME, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK US.  WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOUR GAMING FUN AS MUCH AS OUR OWN.  WE HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR TIME WITH US.  WELCOME TO THE FISHSLAP GAMING CLAN!
